Admissions Information

Mount Saint John provides clinical, residential, educational, and medical services for boys between the ages of 13 and 18 who exhibit serious emotional and behavioral problems within less restrictive settings, or who require a transition from psychiatric settings or juvenile justice institutions.
Referrals are generated and made by the DCF Central Placement Team, or by private providers and school systems. The Director of Treatment Services screens all referrals.
The program requires that parents follow the guidelines of our weekend visitation/family therapy policy that clearly states the expectation that parents and family will be actively involved in a boy’s treatment and planning processes by regular participation in family therapy, attendance at regular treatment plan reviews, and a plan for regular visitation at home on weekends. For those boys who do not have involved families, the referring agency is expected to assist the program in identifying appropriate community resources for support, visitation, and discharge/transitional planning.
